The Department of Veterinary Biosciences
- Taken from Dr. Duncan Ferguson's VB Newsletter column.
The research focus efforts of the department remain robust as highlighted by strong funding in one of its core areas of reproductive biology and environmental toxicology. In fact, with the leadership of Indrani Bagchi and Paul Cooke, the department participated in garnering the first NIH U54 grant ever awarded to the university. The U54 program’s histology core laboratory will be in the department, and has allowed us to reposition the role of this service. The departmental research and training continues to be reinforced by participation of VB faculty in Reproductive Biology, Environmental and Developmental Toxicology, Neurosciences and Nutritional Science programs. The future and legacy of any department is its students and VB’s are to be congratulated for being very successful in competing for college and national awards.
